Alice-Miranda Takes the Lead

Hello everyone,

It's hard to believe that it's already the end of January. I have been rather quiet over Christmas and New Year - mostly because my best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey has been very busy helping me write a new adventure. Alice-Miranda Takes the Lead is in the shops today! I thought it wasn't coming until next Tuesday but today Jacqueline saw it in a lovely bookshop in Wahroonga NSW called Novella. I am so excited - the cover is very pretty. Last term at school the girls were telling me about a legend of a witch who lives in the woods. One afternoon Millie and I went out riding with a new girl, Sloane and our friend Madeline and let's just say that Bonaparte (my pony) wasn't on his best behaviour. I ended up far from home and I met a lovely new friend. Her name is Miss Hephzibah but I don't want to spoil the surprise if you'd like to read the book. We also had a play at school and I got to play one of the lead roles. Anyway, I can't wait to hear what you think about the new story. I promise I''ll write more often again now that school is back.

Lots of love,
Alice-Miranda xx

PS We are having special book launch afternoon tea at Reel on Redleaf cafe in Wahroonga on Sunday 20 February. All my friends are invited and I will make sure that there's an invitation posted on the blog.

Come and meet my best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey Saturday 18 December in Sydney

Hello Friends,
Lately I have been very busy helping my best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey to write my fourth adventure, 'Alice-Miranda at Sea'. Next Saturday she is going to be with some of her other writer friends at the Kinokuniya Bookshop in the Galleries Victoria in Sydney having a special Christmas party. Bruce Whatley, Deborah Abela, Jacqueline Harvey and John Flanagan will all be there throughout the day so why don't you go along and meet them. Jacqueline will be reading a sneak peak from our new book, 'Alice-Miranda Takes the Lead' which is out in February next year.
Hope to see you there.
Love and best wishes,
Alice-Miranda xx

Alice-Miranda and Saturday Disney

Hello Everyone,

This week has been such fun. My best grown up friend Jacqueline Harvey and the Year 7 boarders at Abbotsleigh spent Tuesday afternoon filming a segment for Saturday Disney. The lovely Shae and Sally lost a dare and had to go to boarding school. It was funny the sorts of things they thought about boarding school - Sally said that it was 'really strict' and Shae said that 'they wash your mouth out with soap'. Of course none of that is true and it was lovely that they were able to spend the afternoon and evening having a proper boarding experience. They got to play with the Guide Dog puppy Nelson and Barney the rabbit as well as going to class, having dinner and a sleepover in the boarding house. I don't think I've ever seen the Year 7 girls so excited. The Headmistress and Head of Boarding looked in on them too and I think Shae and Sally would happily come to boarding school all the time if they didn't have to go back to the Disney House. This week my new adventure, Alice-Miranda On Holiday will be out in the shops. We're launching it at The Children's Bookshop at Beecroft at 4.30pm on Thursday 2 September if you would like to come along. Everyone is very welcome. Hope to see you soon.

Love,
Alice-Miranda xx

The book will be in the shops for all my friends to read from the 1st of September. It's been a busy week at school too. Miss Grimm's wedding is just around the corner - and I can't wait.

Hello!

Hello, my name is Alice-Miranda Highton-Smith-Kennington-Jones. I'm very excited to have my own blog where I can tell all my friends what I've been doing at school and at home. It's been a little while since I started at my new school, Winchesterfield-Downsfordvale Academy for Proper Young Ladies. I'm a boarder which means that I get to stay at school all term. I love it - it's like having a sleep over with your friends every night. My best friend is Millicent Jane McLoughlin-McTavish-McNoughton-McGill, but you can just call her Millie. She's a bit older than me. We share a room and we love lots of the same things like Devil's Food cake and chocolate brownies and riding. I will try to write every week and please if you want to write to me I would love to hear from you. Lots of love, Alice-Miranda xx
