A new friend in Stockholm, Sweden

Hello Everyone,

I was so excited to get an email from Isabella who lives in Stockholm, Sweden.  She dressed up as me on the cover of Alice-Miranda At Sea for her school's book day - and she looks amazing.  I've never been to Sweden but I'd love to visit.  Isabella also sent me a picture of her reading the book during the mid term break - and this time she was in Dubai!  I've never been there either but it sounds like a really interesting place.  I think Isabella must travel as much as I do :).  I love seeing photos of readers from around the world - so please send them to my best grown up friend Jacqueline Harvey and we can add them to my blog (of course make sure that you ask your parents first).

Yesterday I did a little spot for a television show - I will post a link as soon as I have the details about when it will go to air.

Have a great week.

Lots of love,
Alice-Miranda xx

PS I hope to see lots of you at my launch for Alice-Miranda In Paris this Saturday - click the link for bookings.

Great days in the UK and SIngapore and lots coming up at home too!

Dear Friends,

I hope you're all well and enjoying school at the moment.  I've been very busy visiting schools all over England and some in Scotland too, making new friends and now I've arrived in Singapore.  We've gone from really cold days, around one or two degrees and several days of snow to sunny and humid Singapore where it's usually about 32 degrees each day.  While in the UK I visited schools in Surrey, London, Southhampton, Preston and surrounding villages, villages near Glasgow, Newcastle, Rickmansworth, Windsor and Edinburgh.  I have loved every minute.  There are so many terrific children in the world and excellent teachers.  My best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey loves being able to visit schools and see how things happen from place to place.  She's completely in her element!  I've got lots of photos to share from different schools.  There is also a picture of two very special little girls called Lily and Emma and their mother Christine.  They have enjoyed my stories for a while now and when we realised that we were going to be close by to where they live, the girls and their mum and dad came to meet us at our hotel.  It was wonderful to meet them in person.  Hope you enjoy the photos!

I also got to see some sights in London too.  Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Harrods (I had to see if it was as lovely as Highton's and I think it is), Buckingham Palace and the Queen Victoria monument were all on my list of place to go.

Now I'm in Singapore and spent three days last week meeting the lovely students at Avondale Grammar School.  I'm not sure what I did to upset the boys down below (I think maybe I left the door open) but we made up afterwards.  This coming week I'm looking forward to making lots of new friends here in Singapore as we travel around to five more schools.  I thought you might like to see some more of the photos.

When I get home to Australia I'm really excited about the launch of Alice-Miranda In Paris, where we'll be having lots of yummy food, fashion and fun on Saturday 16 March.  There is an invitation below.  I hope you can come along.

Lots of love.

PS If you live in Melbourne, I'm heading your way on the week of the 18th March.  There are some library events, so stay tuned for more details.

New friends in England!

Hello Friends,

I am so excited to be travelling with my best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey to London and other parts of England and Scotland in February to launch my third and fourth adventures, Alice-Miranda Takes the Lead and Alice-Miranda At Sea with the fabulous Random House Children's Publications in the UK.  As you can see I was all packed and ready to leave a few days ago and now we are in chilly London.  Tomorrow we will be meeting new friends at Charlotte House School and then I'm so thrilled to be visiting Sarum Hall school again on Tuesday as I have lots of friends there already.  I will be writing about our travels as often as I can.

When we get home to Australia, my seventh adventure, Alice-Miranda In Paris will launch in March and at the moment we are busy working on the eighth which is called, Alice-Miranda Shines Bright.

Hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend.

Lots of love,

A Lovely Day; a new book and new friends

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year!  I can't believe that it's 2013, which means it will be three years next month since my first adventure was published in Australia.  It has been a very busy time that's for sure and my best grown up friend Jacqueline Harvey and I are looking forward to another fantastic year.

I am excited to see that Clementine Rose and the Pet Day Disaster was officially published today.  She's the most adorable little girl and I wish I had a pet teacup pig too.  If you have younger sisters who are not quite ready for my adventures I can highly recommend Clementine Rose's tales.

The cover is adorable.

Today I met a lovely new friend called Claire and her big brother Matthew.  Claire dressed up as me for her Book Week Celebrations and Matthew made a very good Wally from Where's Wally.  I loved that Claire was so interesting in writing and asked Jacqueline Harvey lots of great questions about how you create a book.

Clementine Rose and the Pet Day Disaster - in stores 1 January 2013

Hello Friends,

I am so excited to tell you that Clementine Rose and the Pet Day Disaster will be out on the 1st of January 2013.  Clementine and I haven't met yet, but I suspect we might very soon.  The cover for the new book is below and I think it's adorable.  I wish I had a tea cup pig too - Lavender is so sweet.  Clemmie is starting school - at Ellery Prep, where I used to go before heading off to boarding school.  It's a lovely place and Miss Critchley the Head Teacher is a very special lady.  I hope Clementine loves school as much as I do.  You'll have a little bit longer to wait until my next adventure, Alice-Miranda In Paris is out on the 1st March 2013.  I loved Paris - it's so beautiful and we had an amazing time seeing the sights, singing and unravelling a mystery or two.

I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season.  Happy Christmas to everyone.

Lots of love,
Alice-Miranda xxx

The Alice-Miranda Boarding Experience!

 Hello Friends,

Yesterday afternoon I was very excited to meet ten little girls who had a boarding sleepover with my best grown up friend Jacqueline Harvey.  I stopped in with Mr Plumpton to say hello.  They were cooking Nana Jones's Apple Pie (from the recipe in the back of my first adventure) and they had spaghetti bolognaise for dinner and then for breakfast Mr Grump came and cooked them bacon and eggs.  They even baked a Devil's Food Cake too which looked delicious.  I think all of the girls would love to come to boarding school all the time.

Jacqueline Harvey has been very busy lately visiting lots of schools and even talking at Roseville College Speech Night last week.  She's been writing Clementine Rose's third adventure, Clementine Rose and the Perfect Present and the little girls at the boarding experience had a sneak peek last night.
Jacqueline said that the girls stayed up way past my bedtime - but they did go to sleep!  I wish they could come to my school - they all looked like they would make excellent boarders.  Jacqueline is putting the finishing touches to our Paris adventure which will be launched in March next year and we're about to start work on a new story very soon.  I hope you enjoy the photographs and I will write again soon.

Lots of love,
Alice-Miranda xx
