Hello everyone,

I must apologise for my lack of recent blogging activity. You see my best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey has been away. Jacqueline visited New York where she met the lovely Francoise Bui, one of the children's publishers at Random House Delacorte, who is publishing my stories in the United States in April 2011. Jacqueline has also been away working on my fourth adventure, Alice-Miranda at Sea, which has been quite the most wonderful time. I am really looking forward to sharing my next story with you all in February next year. It's called Alice-Miranda Takes the Lead...but I'm not going to give you any hints about it just yet.

Anyway while Jacqueline was in New York she visited the most amazing store, American Girl and she found an American Girl doll who looks just like me. At the moment her mother in law is making her a Winchesterfield-Downsfordvale uniform so we can look just the same!

Hello friends,

This morning my best grown up friend Jacqueline Harvey had the loveliest morning tea with six gorgeous little girls at the very posh Victoria Room in Sydney. High tea no less, with some of my favourite things including scones with jam and cream, chicken sandwiches, cup cakes with cream cheese icing and mini chocolate mousse cups. There was tea and chocolate milk, apple juice and orange juice. Jacqueline said that it was lots of fun and the girls looked beautiful in their dresses. She and I have been busy working on my next adventures. In a week or so she's off to America to New York where she will meet her lovely editor Francoise Bui at Random House. Jacqueline says that she's very excited and a little bit nervous.

Alice-Miranda On Holiday Launched to the World

Hello friends,

What a wonderful week it has been. Alice-Miranda On Holiday was officially launched on Thursday 2 September at The Children's Bookshop at Beecroft to a lovely audience. Mr John Larkin told a very funny story about not liking my best grown up friend Jacqueline Harvey when he first met her - but I think he was joking. There have already been a couple of reviews about the book which you can read on my blog. This week I am looking forward to meeting lots of children at a very special lunch at St Patrick's Estate at Manly - which looks like Hogwart's School from Harry Potter. I'm also going to make some friends at Ravenswood School for girls. I can't wait!

Alice-Miranda and Saturday Disney

Hello Everyone,

This week has been such fun. My best grown up friend Jacqueline Harvey and the Year 7 boarders at Abbotsleigh spent Tuesday afternoon filming a segment for Saturday Disney. The lovely Shae and Sally lost a dare and had to go to boarding school. It was funny the sorts of things they thought about boarding school - Sally said that it was 'really strict' and Shae said that 'they wash your mouth out with soap'. Of course none of that is true and it was lovely that they were able to spend the afternoon and evening having a proper boarding experience. They got to play with the Guide Dog puppy Nelson and Barney the rabbit as well as going to class, having dinner and a sleepover in the boarding house. I don't think I've ever seen the Year 7 girls so excited. The Headmistress and Head of Boarding looked in on them too and I think Shae and Sally would happily come to boarding school all the time if they didn't have to go back to the Disney House. This week my new adventure, Alice-Miranda On Holiday will be out in the shops. We're launching it at The Children's Bookshop at Beecroft at 4.30pm on Thursday 2 September if you would like to come along. Everyone is very welcome. Hope to see you soon.

Alice-Miranda On Holiday

Hi Everyone,

It's Jacqueline Harvey here. Alice-Miranda asked if I would like to take be her guest blogger this week. And what a week it's been. The Abbotsleigh Literary Festival was a huge success with the most incredible array of authors, illustrators, cartoonists, journalists and other literary experts descending on the school. I had the pleasure of speaking at both opening assemblies - although coming after James Roy at the Senior School assembly - and his hilarious take on the success of the sparkly vampires in Twilight was something of a hard act to follow! I had a great time writing a story for the Junior School assembly which saw everyone from Mr Chicken to Bear and Chook making their way to Woonona Avenue, terrifying our lovely Librarian Sue Krust on the way. On Friday the Junior School Book Parade was amazing. There were many Alice-Miranda's including Miss Havadjia - who looked simply stunning. Paul Macdonald from The Children's Bookshop at Beecroft had special permission to sell Alice-Miranda on Holiday just at the Book Fair on Friday. It was a real thrill signing lots of books - and I've had some lovely feedback from girls who have been reading over the weekend. This week is very exciting too as we are shooting a segment for Saturday Disney with the lovely Shae and Sally and the Year 7 boarders on Tuesday.

New book!

Hello everyone. I hope you've had an exciting week. I certainly have! The first copy of Alice-Miranda On Holiday arrived in the post and my best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey was thrilled. The book will be in the shops for all my friends to read from the 1st of September. It's been a busy week at school too. Miss Grimm's wedding is just around the corner - and I can't wait.

School and other things

Hello, I hope you've had a lovely week. School has been lots of fun. Ever since Miss Grimm came out of her study you wouldn't believe how many things have changed. For a start she comes to assembly every week and she's started inviting girls to the study for afternoon tea. At first some of the girls were terribly nervous but they soon realised that Miss Grimm didn't eat children - only Mrs Smith's delicious apple cinnamon tea cake! I think Mummy and Daddy are getting used to me being away from home - although Mummy still sniffles quite a lot when I telephone her. I've told her that if she doesn't stop I might have to stop calling as it's just too upsetting for her. She promised that she'd try. Anyway, she and Daddy have been very busy. Mummy's just become Chairman or should it be Chairwoman of the Board of Kennington's which I'll tell you all about another time. I can't wait for Miss Grimm and Mr Grump's wedding and Miss Higgins and Constable Derby's too. It's going to be very busy with them on consecutive weekends and all of the girls at school involved in one way or another. But I'll tell you about that next time too. I have to go - Millie and I are off riding. Mr Charles is looking after a couple of ponies for one of the men in the village and we're going to take them out. My little fellow is called Stumps and he's terribly old and very quiet - which will make a change from Bonaparte, my naughty pony. We have to go and collect our picnic. Have a good weekend!
