A wonderful week meeting friends in Melbourne and Geelong

Dear Friends,

I've had the most wonderful week meeting lots of friends in Melbourne and even had time for a tiny bit of sightseeing in Geelong and on the ferry from Queenscliff to Sorrento with Jacqueline Harvey and Zoe from Random House.

I visited a long list of schools including:  Essendon Primary, Brunswick North Primary, St Monica's Moonee Ponds, MLC Junior School Kew, Korowa Anglican Girls School, Geelong Grammar Toorak, Camberwell Girls' Grammar, Maranatha Christian School, Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar, St Francis of Assisi Mill Park, Geelong Grammar Prep and Geelong College as well as Preston Library, Book Grove at Ocean Grove and an event at Sandringham Library with the Ulysses Bookstore.  We worked with lovely people from Book Bonding at Niddrie, The Little Bookroom, Fairfield Books, My Bookshop by Corrie Perkins, Lamont Books and Dymocks Camberwell too.

I know that my best grown up friend Jacqueline Harvey has written all about the tour, day by day on her blog but I thought I would show you some pictures instead.

Happy Easter for the end of the week and have a wonderful holiday if your school is taking a break.

Lots of love,
Alice-Miranda xxx

Tres Chic; Alice-Miranda In Paris Launch!

Bonjour Friends,

Yesterday was so exciting.  I was joined by lots of girls to launch Alice-Miranda In Paris in the space above Shearer's Bookshop at Leichhardt.  It was fantastic to see so many of you there and looking gorgeous too.  We started off with a quiz to see who knew the most about the books.  In the end it was a three way tie and my best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey said that she thought everyone was going to win for a while.  We had yummy food; pain au chocolat; macaroons, baguettes with ham and cheese, croissants, cream puffs, tarts and chocolate eclairs.  There was a runway parade with girls stepping out in three categories; Alice-Miranda lookalikes, French Chic and other characters from the stories.  It was very sweet that there was only one girl dressed as another character and that was Millie.  She looked just like her too.  Jacqueline's publisher, Chris Kunz then launched the book and we met Anne Yi, the amazing illustrator who draws all the pictures for the stories and for Clementine Rose too.  She is so clever and the sweetest person.

The team at Random House did a fantastic job pulling the event together and Mr and Mrs Horgan from Shearer's were wonderful too.

I had a great day and now I'm getting very excited about going to meet lots of friends in Melbourne next week.  You can check on Jacqueline Harvey's calendar to see if I'm coming to a library or bookshop near you.

Clementine Rose lookalike in Windsor England

Hello Friends,

I was so excited to receive an email from Tess in Windsor, England.  We travelled to her school a couple of weeks ago and although my friend Clementine Rose's adventures are not yet published in the UK, she clearly made an impression. Tess dressed up as Clementine Rose for the World Book Day celebrations and I think she looks gorgeous.  She's the first little girl we know of who has dressed up as Clementine Rose in England.  I hope she gets to read the books first too!  They will be available in the UK in August.

I love her Lavender the pig too.

Lots of love,
Alice-Miranda xx

A new friend in Stockholm, Sweden

Hello Everyone,

I was so excited to get an email from Isabella who lives in Stockholm, Sweden.  She dressed up as me on the cover of Alice-Miranda At Sea for her school's book day - and she looks amazing.  I've never been to Sweden but I'd love to visit.  Isabella also sent me a picture of her reading the book during the mid term break - and this time she was in Dubai!  I've never been there either but it sounds like a really interesting place.  I think Isabella must travel as much as I do :).  I love seeing photos of readers from around the world - so please send them to my best grown up friend Jacqueline Harvey and we can add them to my blog (of course make sure that you ask your parents first).

Yesterday I did a little spot for a television show - I will post a link as soon as I have the details about when it will go to air.

Have a great week.

Lots of love,
Alice-Miranda xx

PS I hope to see lots of you at my launch for Alice-Miranda In Paris this Saturday - click the link for bookings.

Great days in the UK and SIngapore and lots coming up at home too!

Dear Friends,

I hope you're all well and enjoying school at the moment.  I've been very busy visiting schools all over England and some in Scotland too, making new friends and now I've arrived in Singapore.  We've gone from really cold days, around one or two degrees and several days of snow to sunny and humid Singapore where it's usually about 32 degrees each day.  While in the UK I visited schools in Surrey, London, Southhampton, Preston and surrounding villages, villages near Glasgow, Newcastle, Rickmansworth, Windsor and Edinburgh.  I have loved every minute.  There are so many terrific children in the world and excellent teachers.  My best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey loves being able to visit schools and see how things happen from place to place.  She's completely in her element!  I've got lots of photos to share from different schools.  There is also a picture of two very special little girls called Lily and Emma and their mother Christine.  They have enjoyed my stories for a while now and when we realised that we were going to be close by to where they live, the girls and their mum and dad came to meet us at our hotel.  It was wonderful to meet them in person.  Hope you enjoy the photos!

I also got to see some sights in London too.  Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Harrods (I had to see if it was as lovely as Highton's and I think it is), Buckingham Palace and the Queen Victoria monument were all on my list of place to go.

Now I'm in Singapore and spent three days last week meeting the lovely students at Avondale Grammar School.  I'm not sure what I did to upset the boys down below (I think maybe I left the door open) but we made up afterwards.  This coming week I'm looking forward to making lots of new friends here in Singapore as we travel around to five more schools.  I thought you might like to see some more of the photos.

When I get home to Australia I'm really excited about the launch of Alice-Miranda In Paris, where we'll be having lots of yummy food, fashion and fun on Saturday 16 March.  There is an invitation below.  I hope you can come along.

Lots of love.
Alice-Miranda xxx

PS If you live in Melbourne, I'm heading your way on the week of the 18th March.  There are some library events, so stay tuned for more details.
