A busy time in Alice Springs!

Hello everyone,

I've had a very busy time last week, visiting the beautiful red centre of Australia.  It was amazing.  I had always thought it would be dusty and dry but it's incredibly green at the moment.  They've had lots of rain earlier in the year and so the red hills and the green grass are amazing.  My best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey took me with her on a bus tour to the West MacDonnell Ranges and we visited Standley Chasm, the Ochre Pits, Ellery Creek Bighole, Ormiston Gorge and Glen Helen (for a delicious lunch). On the way back we stopped at Simpson's Gap and John Flynn's grave.  He was the man who started the Flying Doctor Service.  I also got to meet lots of new friends at 8 different schools in Alice Springs as well as a visit to the local library.  Jacqueline Harvey did an interview on the local ABC radio which she thought was great fun.  She's written two blog posts about our trip which I will link to my blog here http://jacquelineharvey.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/alice-miranda-in-alice-springs-outback.html and http://jacquelineharvey.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/8-schools-12-sessions-interview-on-abc.html

I made lots of new friends in Alice Springs and it was great to meet some of the children who already knew a little bit about me and my adventures.  Of course I introduced Clementine Rose to them as well.  I've included quite a few pictures below - I hope you enjoy them.  This week, Jacqueline Harvey is busy working on our 9th adventure, which will see us in Japan.  I can't wait to share that with you all too.  I know holidays are coming up soon, so enjoy the last week or two of school.

Lots of love,
Alice-Miranda xxx
